Pressed Group Pty Ltd trading as Pressed Plumbing and Gas Services (ABN 71 697 663 728) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Information we collect
When you submit an enquiry through this website, we collect:
- your name
- your phone number
- your email address
- your suburb or the job location
- the service you need
- your description of the job
- any photograph or document you choose to attach
If we go on to quote or carry out work for you, we also collect the full site address, records of the work performed, and the records we are required by law to keep as licensed plumbers and gasfitters.
We collect this information directly from you. We do not buy personal information from anyone, and we do not sell yours.
Photographs and documents you send us
A photograph attached to an enquiry is converted into a fresh copy before it is emailed to us. This resizes it and removes hidden information such as the location where it was taken. A document such as a PDF is passed on as you sent it. No copy of either is kept on this website, so what you send is never sitting at a public web address where someone could come across it. The only copy is the one in our email.
Photographs of your property can show more than the problem: a house number, a car, a person at a window. We treat them as part of your enquiry and nothing else. We do not publish a photograph you have sent us, on our website or anywhere else, unless you have told us we may.
Enquiries and the booking log
Enquiries sent through this website are emailed to us. The website also keeps a copy of each email it sends in its booking log, and may keep the request in its booking list. Only the site administrator can see them. They are kept until we delete them, and we delete your entry when you ask us to.
Address suggestions
Incorporates or developed using G-NAF © Geoscape Australia licensed by the Commonwealth of Australia under the Open Geo-coded National Address File (G-NAF) End User Licence Agreement. Suggestions are a convenience only and must not be relied on to verify an address for sending mail.
How we use your information
- to answer your enquiry, quote, and carry out work you ask us to do
- to contact you about a job in progress, or about work we have done
- to invoice you and keep our accounts
- to meet our obligations as licensed plumbers and gasfitters in Western Australia
- to remind you when work we have done for you is due for servicing or retesting
Service reminders
If we have carried out work for you, we may contact you by email or SMS to remind you when something is due again, such as a filter change, backflow testing, or other work that needs servicing or retesting periodically. That is the only kind of marketing message we send.
We do not add you to a marketing list simply because you sent us an enquiry through this website, and we do not send general advertising. We do not use a third-party marketing platform. If that changes we will update this page first.
Every reminder says who it is from and carries a way to stop it. You can opt out at any time, either by replying to the message or by writing to us at admin@pressedpgs.com.au. We will action it within 5 business days, and it costs you nothing.
Opting out of reminders does not stop us contacting you about a job in progress, a quote you asked for, an invoice, or work we have done. Those are not marketing.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites.
If website statistics are switched on, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Nothing is collected until you choose Accept on the notice at the bottom of the page. If you choose Dismiss, or ignore the notice, no analytics cookies are set and nothing about your visit is recorded. Your choice is remembered in your own browser for 12 months, then we ask again. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, and clearing your browsing data for this site also resets it.
The site also saves two small settings in your own browser: your choice on the analytics notice, and whether you have closed the current offer. These stay on your device, are not sent to us, and do not track you.
If you accept, we record which pages you look at and roughly where you came from, when someone taps a phone number or a quote button, and when an enquiry is completed, including whether a photograph came with it.
We do not send Google anything you typed into the form: not your name, email address, phone number, suburb, or the description of your job. Google Analytics does not log or store your IP address, and Google’s advertising features are switched off.
Spam protection
To stop automated systems flooding the enquiry form, the website briefly keeps a scrambled code made from your internet address, to count recent submissions. The code cannot be turned back into your address, is used for nothing else, and is discarded automatically within an hour. If an unusual number of enquiries arrives, we still receive them, marked for us to check, rather than simply discarding them.
If you apply for a job with us
If you apply for work with us, or send us a resume or any other employment-related information, we collect and use it to assess your suitability for the role you applied for and for other roles that may come up.
That can include your contact details, your work history, your licences and qualifications, and anything a referee tells us. We only approach a referee you have given us.
We keep applicant information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for recruitment, employment or legal purposes, and we handle it under this policy like any other personal information. You can ask us at any time what we hold about your application, to correct it, or to delete it.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- subcontractors or suppliers who need it to carry out or complete your job
- our website and email hosting provider, so the site and our email can operate
- our accountant, and our insurer if a claim relates to your job
- Building and Energy or another regulator, where we are required to notify or produce records for licensed plumbing or gasfitting work
- Google Analytics, and only if you accepted analytics
- anyone else we are required to disclose it to by law
Information sent overseas
This website and our email are hosted in Australia. If you accept analytics, Google may store and process that information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Nothing you type into the enquiry form is sent to Google.
How long we keep it
We do not keep everything for the same length of time.
- Enquiries that did not become a job: kept only for as long as they are reasonably needed, so we can pick up the thread if you come back to us, and then destroyed or de-identified. You can ask us to delete an enquiry at any time.
- Jobs we quoted or carried out: kept for at least 7 years from the end of the financial year the work relates to. Three separate rules bear on this: the Australian Taxation Office requires most business records to be kept 5 years, the Plumbers Licensing and Plumbing Standards Regulations 2000 (WA) require certificates of compliance and records of minor plumbing work to be kept 6 years, and as a company we must keep our financial records 7 years under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). Seven years satisfies all three.
- Photographs and documents attached to an enquiry: kept with the enquiry or the job they belong to, on the same timing as above.
- Job applications: kept only for as long as reasonably needed for recruitment, employment or legal purposes, then destroyed or de-identified.
- Analytics: held by Google under its own retention settings. It is not linked to your enquiry.
When a retention period ends we delete the information or de-identify it.
How we keep it safe
This website is served over an encrypted connection, so what you type into the enquiry form is encrypted on its way to us. Access to our email and records is limited to the people who need it. Like every website, our hosting provider’s servers keep standard technical logs of visits, including internet addresses, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use these logs to identify visitors. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold, and if a data breach occurred that was likely to cause you serious harm we would tell you and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us:
- what personal information we hold about you
- to correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- to delete it, where we are not required by law to keep it
Contact us using the details below. There is no charge for asking, and we will respond within 30 days. If we cannot do what you have asked, usually because a record has to be kept for the periods above, we will tell you why in writing.
Complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please raise it with us first at admin@pressedpgs.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. We will not make a material change quietly.
