Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 26 September 2026

These terms apply to plumbing, gas fitting and maintenance work carried out by Pressed Group Pty Ltd trading as Pressed Plumbing and Gas Services (ABN 71 697 663 728). In these terms, “we” and “us” means that company, and “you” means the person or organisation asking us to carry out work.

They apply when you accept a quote, book a job, or ask us to attend. If we have a separate signed contract with you, that contract prevails over anything below that conflicts with it.

Your rights that we cannot take away

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Work must be carried out with due care and skill, be fit for the purpose you told us about, and be supplied within a reasonable time. Nothing in these terms limits or removes those rights, and where anything below is inconsistent with them, those rights apply.

Separately, you can raise a complaint about defective plumbing or gas work with Building and Energy for six years after the work is completed. That right exists regardless of anything in these terms.

Quotes, estimates and variations

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. After that we may need to review the pricing, because material and supplier costs move.

A written quote is fixed for the scope of works it describes. Where the extent of the work cannot reasonably be determined until we have investigated, gained access or started, we will give you an estimate instead and will say clearly that it is an estimate.

Anything outside the quoted scope is a variation and needs your approval first. If we open something up and find more work, such as unforeseen conditions or site conditions that differ from what was visible, we stop, tell you what we have found and what it will cost, and do not continue until you agree.

Residential work over $7,500

Fixed-price residential building work between $7,500 and $500,000 is covered by the Home Building Contracts Act 1991 (WA), which requires a separate written contract, caps any deposit, and requires variations to be agreed in writing by both parties before the work is done. Where a job falls into that range we will put a written contract in place. These website terms do not replace it.

Call-out fees and rates

A standard call-out fee applies to attendance during business hours. Higher call-out fees and higher labour rates apply to emergency, after-hours, weekend and public holiday attendance, and emergency priority attendance may attract a higher call-out fee again.

Whatever applies to your job is confirmed with you before we attend, not afterwards. We may offer a free site visit for the purpose of preparing a quote where that is agreed in advance.

Deposits

No deposit is required for standard service and maintenance work.

A deposit may be required for quoted works that involve buying fixtures, appliances, hot water systems, special-order materials, or other significant upfront material costs. Any deposit is advised and agreed with you before work commences. Where the Home Building Contracts Act 1991 (WA) applies, the statutory deposit cap applies.

Payment

Residential customers: payment is due on completion of the work, or the same day, unless the invoice states otherwise.

Approved real estate, property management, commercial and contracted clients: payment terms are as agreed with you, or as stated on the invoice.

Overdue accounts

We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at 10% per annum, calculated daily on the outstanding balance from the invoice due date until payment is received in full. Where alternative payment terms have been agreed with you in writing, those terms apply.

We also reserve the right to recover reasonable costs incurred in recovering an overdue account, to the extent permitted by law.

Access and attendance

You agree to give us safe and clear access to the work area at the agreed time, and to tell us about anything on site that affects how the work can be done safely, such as asbestos, unmarked services, animals, difficult access, or anything else we would not see for ourselves.

You can cancel or reschedule an appointment without charge by giving us at least 24 hours’ notice. Where less than 24 hours’ notice is given, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee.

Where we attend the agreed address and cannot gain access, or cannot start the scheduled work for reasons outside our control, the applicable call-out fee may be charged.

Materials, fixtures and appliances

Materials, fixtures and appliances may also come with a manufacturer’s warranty. Any manufacturer’s warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

What we do not do, and what is not our work

We do not undertake asbestos removal or disturbance.

We are responsible only for work we have carried out. That does not extend to pre-existing pipework, fixtures, fittings, appliances, or work completed by others, or to failures resulting from:

  • pre-existing defects, deterioration or corrosion
  • misuse, or normal wear and tear
  • damage or alterations by third parties
  • circumstances outside our reasonable control

Nothing in these exclusions limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

Licensing, compliance and safety

We hold Plumbing Licence PL 11297, Gas Fitting Licence GF 23365 and Backflow Licence BF 3623, and we work to the standards and notification requirements that apply to licensed plumbing and gas fitting in Western Australia. Where a job requires a compliance certificate or notification to Building and Energy, we complete it.

Where we find an immediate safety risk, such as a gas leak, an unsafe appliance or a backflow hazard, we may isolate, disconnect or make safe before doing anything else, and we will tell you what we have done and why.

If you smell gas: turn the supply off at the meter, avoid switches and open flames, leave the building if the smell is strong, and ring us on 1800 077 377 or the gas network emergency line.

Insurance

We maintain insurance appropriate to our business operations and services, including current Public Liability Insurance. Evidence of applicable cover is available on request.

Your privacy

Information you give us when you enquire or when we carry out work is handled under our Privacy Policy.

If something goes wrong

Please tell us first. Ring 1800 077 377 or email admin@pressedpgs.com.au Most problems are quickest to fix when we hear about them early.

If we cannot resolve it between us, you can contact Building and Energy, part of the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, about plumbing or gas fitting work, or Consumer Protection about a consumer matter.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your job is the one published when you accepted the quote or booked the work, and we will change the date at the top whenever we update this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia.
